Our Mission
Our core mission at the Hope Centre is to develop support programmes to restore hope to those marginalised and less privileged within our communities. We work with communities to provide relief for the needs of children such as nutrition, education, medical assistance, and emotional and practical support, to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
Core Values
- Christian solid and moral values
- High-quality education
- Pastoral Care
- Discipline
- Building confident children
- Vibrant learning environment
Our Aims
For many families, the underlying factor is the challenge of being caught in a harsh cycle of poverty that forces them to give up their children. Sadly, these abandoned children spend the crucial formative years of their lives in unstable environments such as urban dwellings, market centres and along the beach, never knowing what a natural home feels like.
We aim to provide:
- A secure family environment for these children, where every 5 children are assigned a mother and father, so they grow up with family values.
- Nursery and Primary schools which are open to the community.
- A programme to encourage responsible families to foster children, with assigned social workers to monitor each child’s progress.
- A Clinic which will also serve the community (this is yet to begin).
We aim to develop:
- A child sponsorship programme, in partnership with Compassion International, for the less privileged in the Ayensudu/Elmina/Cape Coast community.
- Support services include assisting teenage parents to further their education, as well as providing support for widows to acquire skills, with some receiving financial assistance to start a trade.
Annually, we conduct missions to neighbouring communities, distributing food items and used clothes to the villages nearby. The collection of donated items is coordinated by the Hope Centre Team. Items include clothing, shoes, toys, books, school equipment, etc., shipped from the U.K.
